Abstract

|
Systemic lupus erythematosus is an autoimmune disease involving many organs. It is likely that hyperthyroidism is also and autoimmune disease. Although thyroid disease has been associated with systemic rheumatic diseases, systemic lupus
erythematosus is
not commonly associated with hyperthyroidism.
The case of 23 year-old, who had hyperthroidism and systemic lupus erythematosus is described, and the relationship of the two diseases is discussed.
